Chinese astrology is based on astronomic, religious and traditional calendar data. As the Chinese calendar is solilunar, the date when the sign changes is on the Chinese New Year, i.e. new moon’s day (Beijing’s time), between 21 January and 20 February.
2012 is the year of the Dragon in Chinese astrology. Asian communities will celebrate the new year on next 23 January.
The Dragon is full of health, vitality and activity. He is said to be very lucky in his relationships. Friends and relatives are always ready to listen to what the Dragon has to say, and, when he sometimes gives some advice, the audience always lends an attentive ear. His taste for perfection makes him demanding on himself and others. He demands a lot but also contributes very much. During his whole life, the Dragon will be free from want. He can succeed in any occupation. Whether he chooses an artistic, religious, military, medical or political career, he will shine.
This year, the influence of water will mitigate the Dragon’s dynamism, but will not restrain his sensuality or his showmanship.
