Since1983, French Polynesia has celebrated International Women’s Day, which is awaited every year by all Polynesian women. On this occasion, “vahines” can meet and enjoy together a festive moment but also review women’s condition in French Polynesia.
On that day which is specifically dedicated to women of our “fenua” (land), many events are proposed such as dance shows, songs, local artists’ performances, but also solidarity and welfare actions targeted at underprivileged people and children in difficult situations.
Since 2002, OPT has always taken part in that event! We are pleased to present a new series of 2 commemorative stamps on the theme “Mother and Child”, made by two painters of the island of Moorea: Annie Cathala and Olivier Louzé.
