International Women's Day is the story of all these ordinary women who made history. It draws its roots in the struggle waged by women since centuries to participate in society on the an equal footing with men. The feminist movement, reinforced by four conferences on women organized under the auspices of the United Nations, To make the celebration of this Day the Coordinating efforts deployed to demand the realization of rights women and their participation in the process olitical and economic development.
The Post & Telecommunications board of French Polynesia celebrates this "day of the woman" for several years through philately,highlighting paintings of artists from Polynesia. This year, the photography of a Polynesian artist, Teikidev, was honored to magnify and pay tribute to the vahine of the fenua. Indeed, through these two postage stamps taken from the collection of the oldest female magazine in French Polynesia, the "Fenua'Orama", it is this Polynesian woman "crowned", eternally beautiful, sometimes a little cliché, but always creative and determined that we salute.
