On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Postal Service China has organized a major International Philatelic Exhibition entitled «CHINA '96», to be held from May 18 to 24 at the Beijing International Exhibition Center.
In this land of high civilization, it is not uncommon to discover signs of intercommunication dating back to over 3,000 years and the organizers of this event have precisely chosen the development of the Postal Service right from its inception as the main theme.
French Polynesia, which has an important Chinese community, has chosen to evoke, through a stamp and a miniature sheet of postage stamps the former Chinese schools of Tahiti as well as the sumptuous festivals often organized in front of its temple by this dynamic community.
